Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Statement

The Peer Medical Foundation is dedicated to advancing the goals of health equity, inclusivity, diversity and racial justice in medicine.

As an international community, we advocate for patient-centred care and increased environments of inclusion and diversity for historically underrepresented groups across the world. We firmly believe that injustice in healthcare is one of the most outrageous and that it is our responsibility as future and current healthcare professionals to create safe spaces for people and patients everywhere.

As an organization, our view of diversity, equity, and inclusion are broad; we do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, skin tone, religion, national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, and/or level of ability. In line with our motto, “From Stethescopes to Hearts, Serving Humanity”, it is our deepest hope that the work of the Peer Medical Foundation helps to change the realities faced by marginalized communities and has a positive impact on society as a whole.

The Peer Medical Foundation strongly denounces discrimination, prejudice and violence in all of its forms, directed at any and all individuals and groups. We have a zero tolerance policy towards racist, homophobic, transphobic, and sexist attitudes and other discriminatory behaviors. Through our numerous events and projects, we hope to provide a safe space for diverse voices to be heard and empowered.
